LASC: Coordinator
LASC is seeking a highly committed and organized professional for the
role of Coordinator, who will be responsible for managing our online
and physical working environment and for coordinating our Development
Education activities in the community sector, including courses,
public talks, cultural events and other activities.

HOURS: This is a part-time position (**Apply on the website** hours
per week) on a flexible schedule; with the possibility of extending
hours depending on new projects and funding. Several activities may
take place outside usual office hours (courses, events, meetings).

JOB LOCATION: Several activities will be based in Dublin, but there is
an option for a degree of flexible and remote working.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The two main areas of responsibility of the coordinator are Office
Management and Development Education.

_REGARDING OFFICE MANAGEMENT, THE COORDINATOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR:_

* Coordinating the preparation and follow-up of projects and budgets;
* Applying and reporting to funding organizations for LASC?s
ongoing activities;
* Representing the Centre to other bodies and in public relations
and communications;
* Attending Management Committee meetings and reporting to the
Committee;
* Overseeing daily office administration and implementing effective
administration systems;
* Managing the finances of the Centre and ensuring that the
organization runs within its budget guidelines, in conjunction with
the Treasurer and Administrator;
* Answering the phone and responding to emails.

_REGARDING DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION, THE COORDINATOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR OVERSEEING AND ENSURING THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF A PROJECT
FUNDED BY IRISH AID. SPECIFICALLY, THEY WILL:_

* Lead the organization of LASC?s Development Education activities
in the community and adult education sector, including, organizing
courses on Latin American Development Issues (within and outside
Dublin), monthly public LASCWeds talks on current issues in Latin
America, an annual Latin American cultural festival, a training for
youth workers, and the annual Latin America Week series of events;
* Lead the organization of an art project to highlight specific
Latin American development issues;
* Outreach to organizations and movements in Latin America with a
view to giving them a platform to share their struggles with an Irish
audience.
* The Coordinator will carry out such alternative duties as may be
assigned by the Management Committee following consultation from time
to time.

REQUIREMENTS

* Third-level qualification in a relevant area (Master?s Degree an
advantage)
* Ability to prioritize workload to deal with competing demands on
time
* Previous management experience and experience in managing budgets
* Experience of working in the adult/community education sector and
the delivery of workshops
* Experience in funding applications and liaising with funders
* Good computer skills
* Ability to lead and work as part of a team
* Proficiency in English and Spanish/Portuguese
* Applicant must be entitled to work in Ireland (Unfortunately we
are unable to consider Stamp 2 holders)

DESIRABLE

* Experience of living in Latin America
* Familiarity with the non-profit sector in Ireland
* Experience in fundraising and fundraising events
* Experience and knowledge of Development Education methodologies
* Experience in organizing public events such as talks
